Concept stores are characterised by the fact that they are hard to characterise all together. Actually, the only thing they have in common is their uniqueness. That’s due to the fact that every concept store has its own unique feel and story. It’s like opening a book when you walk in to a store like these.
In this post, we will give you a sneak peek in some of the pages of these beautiful books. But of course, if you really want to know the entire story of these concept stores. Go to Paris, visit them and experience the complete ambience.
111 Boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003 Paris
Merci – meaning ‘Thanks’ – is exactly what I want to say to this store for existing. The unparalleled store design is a feast for your senses. You enter the building naively believing you’ve entered a coffee bar, but when you follow the small hallway alongside the giant bookcases you’ll end up in the actual store. This place feels like a skateboard legend, a rural décor designer and a very talented, open-minded architect teamed up to do the trick. With three big floors of art, fashion and interior design this store will keep you wandering while wondering for hours if you have that amount of time. And, oh yea, they have a painted Fiat in their courtyard; because why not. Go check it out.
48 Rue Cambon, 75001 Paris
This store is established by (co)owners of the late most famous concept store Colette – the one which Pharrell Williams said to go to if you want to buy the future. Inside Nous Paris you’ll find great concept art, awesome collector’s items and some very futuristic fashion statements. In the short time that it’s been open, it has settled a name for itself and there’s a reason for it. Where else do you find Yeezy’s carved out of wood or three skateboard designs next to each other which flick a middle finger to the White House. It’s just that bit extra ordinaire which makes you want to go, leave and return there. For a bit more of a taste for their story, check out their Insta-grid. To feel the real deal. Go there!
76 rue Vieille du Temple, 75003 Paris
Through a narrow, picturesque street one enters this small and even more picturesque concept boutique store called Les Raffineurs. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a hint of daisies or whatever the lovely scent is filling the air in the store. They sell interior design and accessories, which are two things they combine very well considering their own in store design. And the beauty of this store doesn’t end when exiting the store, while their online shop, Facebook feed and Instagram grid are some fine pearls of their own. Check. Them. Out.
2 Rue de Marseille, 75010 Paris
Shoes, magazines, belts and plants are presented on different shelves on an industrial-like wall in this store. The brands and aesthetics of this store are very pleasant and each contribute to the entire concept story they try to tell. “We wished to open a place where the ones who build tomorrow’s society can express themselves” is one of the inspiring quotes they go by. With this store, and therefor with the brands and the in store design, the owners try to shed a new light on consumption as a whole. This is mainly why the experience differs so much from your average fashion or lifestyle store. Pay a visit. Go and experience it yourself, it’s a must.
That’s it. For now.
We thought these were a few of the best concept stores in Paris, but of course we didn’t find all of them! Do you have any suggestions for us to complement this list, let us know by sending us a message on Facebook, Instagram or an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks in advance and with kind Regards,
